Beginning Computer Classes

Classes are going on now at the Pikeville Public Library at these times:

Tuesdays: 5:00 to 6:30

Wednesdays: 10:30 to 12:00

The classes will teach the basics of computer use, and more! Here is a list of some of what is covered:

Computer Basics:

For the beginner, these classes introduce the basic parts of a computer, how to use a mouse, and the Windows desktop and usage.

Microsoft Word: Level 1

Learn the basics of word processing including creating, formatting, and printing a simple document.

Microsoft Word: Level 2

Learn more advanced word processing skills including tables, bulleted and numbered lists, cut/copy/paste functions, headers and footers.

Internet:

Learn what the Internet is and what it can offer. Time will be spent exploring interesting and useful websites using Internet Explorer.

Email:
Learn how to create and use a free email account.  Participants will choose a unique email address and password, compose and send email messages, attach files to email messages, read and reply to incoming email, and store email addresses in a personal address book for future use.

Microsoft Publisher:

This class illustrates the many uses for this popular desktop publishing program. Create greeting cards, flyers, or even a simple newsletter.
